Sunglasses

What to look for in sunglasses

Accessories are the small things that make outdoor activities work. Hats and sunglasses for sun protection. Socks that prevent blisters and stay dry. Hydration packs that don't bounce. Insoles that turn an okay shoe into a great one. Picking the right one comes down to the specific activity and how often you'll use it. We carry the brands we trust. Smartwool, Darn Tough, Feetures, and Swiftwick for socks. Goodr, Suncloud, and Smith for sunglasses. Nathan and Ultimate Direction for hydration. Superfeet, OS1st, and Currex for insoles.

FAQ

How often should I replace running socks?

Once they thin out at the heel and toe, replace them. Most quality running socks last 6–12 months of regular use.

What size hydration pack do I need?

For runs under 90 minutes, a handheld or 4–8L vest is plenty. For long runs and ultras, 8–15L gives room for layers and food. For backpacking, look at hiking packs in the 30L+ range.

Do insoles really make a difference?

For people with flat or high-arched feet, often yes. A neutral-arch shoe with a supportive insole can fix issues that a different shoe wouldn't solve. Talk to our staff if you're troubleshooting a specific issue.

Are polarized sunglasses worth it?

For driving, fishing, and bright water, yes. They cut glare. For most other use, polarized vs non-polarized is a preference call.
