How often should I replace running shoes?

Most daily trainers last 300 to 500 miles. Plates and high-mileage tempo shoes wear faster. Trail shoes are about lugs. When the outsole rounds off, traction goes. If you're not sure, the wear pattern on the outsole and a creased midsole are the clearest signs.
