The Grivet Take
The Cloudultra 3 is On's ultra-distance trail trainer, built around CloudTec adapted for long-day comfort plus a cushioned wide platform. 35/29 stack, 6mm drop, ~9.4 oz women's, Missiongrip rubber outsole. Best for ultra-distance trail efforts, long-mile training, and runners who want On's distinctive ride for serious trail miles. Skip it for short technical scrambling; the Cloudultra is built for sustained effort, not snappy agility.

Support
Support TypeSupport Type describes how much built-in guidance the shoe has. Neutral shoes do not add support structure. Stability shoes use geometry, rails, firmer foam, or frame designs to create a more guided feel. Motion control shoes are the maximum-support category and are rare in modern running.

PlatformPlatform describes the width and shape of the shoe's base underfoot. A wider platform can feel steadier even when the shoe is neutral. This is separate from Support Type.
Wider, steadier base
How it fits
Fits true to size with a slightly more accommodating last for swelling on long efforts. Toe box runs slightly wider than typical On shoes. Midfoot is normal volume; heel hold is good. Available in Standard (B) only for women's.
How it feels
Cushion is high; CloudTec produces On's forward-rolling feel adapted for ultra-distance loading. The 6mm drop and wide platform give a stable, protective feel on uneven trail terrain. Missiongrip rubber outsole grips reliably across mixed conditions.
