What to look for in men's bottoms

Bottoms break down by activity. Running shorts use lightweight wicking fabrics with built-in liners. Hiking pants prioritize stretch, durability, and pocket layout. Training shorts split the difference. Lifestyle pants like the Patagonia Quandary or Vuori Ripstop work for trail and town. Inseam length varies more than people expect. Running shorts come in 3-, 5-, 7-, and 9-inch inseams. Pick what feels right for your running style. Hiking pants and travel pants come in regular and short inseams from many brands.

FAQ

Do I need a liner in my running shorts?

Most runners do. Built-in liners reduce chafing and provide light support. If you prefer to use your own underwear or compression shorts, look for un-lined shorts.

Are hiking pants worth it over jeans?

Yes for any hike longer than a casual stroll. Technical fabrics breathe better, dry faster, stretch where you need them, and weigh less. Jeans hold sweat and chafe.

What's the difference between a hiking pant and a travel pant?

A lot of overlap. Travel pants emphasize wrinkle resistance and a clean look for restaurants. Hiking pants prioritize abrasion resistance and stretch for scrambling.

Do you carry tall sizes?

Most pants come in regular inseam by default. Call or chat if you need a tall or short version of a specific style.
